{"id":511,"date":"2013-07-27T14:05:31","date_gmt":"2013-07-27T14:05:31","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.partingcompany.co.uk\/?p=511"},"modified":"2022-04-27T10:55:26","modified_gmt":"2022-04-27T10:55:26","slug":"more-hints-and-tips","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"http:\/\/www.partingcompany.co.uk\/?p=511","title":{"rendered":"More Hints and Tips"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Have you ever wanted to change the colour of your model (plastic) and found that you can&#8217;t easily buy a paint stripper for plastics?<\/p>\n<p>Well i have an answer told to me by a friend in the trade.<\/p>\n<p>Get yourself some Dettol ( the brown stuff)<a href=\"http:\/\/www.partingcompany.co.uk\/?attachment_id=493\" rel=\"attachment wp-att-493\"><img data-recalc-dims=\"1\" loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" title=\"WP_20130727_002\" src=\"https:\/\/i0.wp.com\/www.partingcompany.co.uk\/wp-content\/uploads\/WP_20130727_002.jpg?resize=225%2C300\" alt=\"Paint Stipper for Plastics\" width=\"225\" height=\"300\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>1. Use a large enough container to be able to cover the item in water.<\/p>\n<p>2. Fill container up with warm water.<\/p>\n<p>3. Add about a cap full of Brown Liquid Dettol to the water, the water should go a milk sort of colour and you will notice the hospital odour.<\/p>\n<p>4. Submurge your plastic item that needs stripping in the water\/Dettol solution, leave over night or at most around 48 hours.<\/p>\n<p>5.
